In SOLO, I wrote a chapter called Other People, which is all about how our interactions and relationships with other people influence the way our work might develop. It’s also about manners and communication, and hopefully allows others to learn from and avoid a few of the possibly painful, definitely hurtful mistakes I’ve made along the way.

But I also want people who live with solo workers, and people who employ solo workers, to think about what it’s like on our side. These PDFs are a bit tongue in cheek, and mildly sarcastic – but this stuff needs saying: if you have a soloist in your life and you are not one, it’s hard for you to know just how challenging it can be, at times. And if you employ soloists, but have never been one, you truly cannot have any idea just how tough it is to manage clients and customers, sometimes, when you’re on your own.

So here’s a little window on our world…feel free to press the button for a cut-out-and-keep version of what I put in the book. (Alternatively, if you’re the soloist, print these out and leave them lying around…)
